Source licenses
The included icon versions have no subscription expiry. Their original public-license permissions continue for those versions, subject to the license conditions; a later upstream license change does not retroactively replace those permissions.
Every icon in this fixed catalogue is recorded under its package-specific public license in the manifest below. The included versions come from Best Icons Approved 206 release 2026-09-06, with the manifest dated September 6, 2026.
We use the covered icon versions recorded in this catalogue, not newer or differently licensed releases under an older license. A license attached to an earlier release does not automatically cover later additions or changed files. The original creators retain their rights; Best Icons does not relicense their artwork.
This applies across every included license family, including MIT, Apache 2.0, ISC, BSD 3-Clause, CC BY 4.0, CC BY-SA 4.0, MPL 2.0, OFL 1.1, CC0, the Unlicense and public-domain material—not just Apache. Their wording and conditions differ. Rights validly granted for a covered version do not acquire a subscription expiry merely because its creator later changes the license or stops offering it.
Apache 2.0 Section 2 expressly calls its copyright grant “perpetual”, “worldwide” and “irrevocable”. MIT, ISC and BSD grant permissions without a fixed expiry date, but do not use that same wording. CC BY runs for the duration of the licensed rights; CC0 and the Unlicense are intended as permanent public-domain dedications, subject to applicable law.
Lasting does not mean unconditional: required notices, attribution and other obligations remain. CC BY has termination and reinstatement rules for non-compliance; Apache has a separate patent-litigation termination rule. Keep the version you received and its license materials. See each license’s full terms below.
Plain-English overview
The one-time price covers the assembled bundle, normalized files, and AI-curated English keyword data. It does not turn the underlying icons into proprietary assets.
Every included source license permits commercial use. The exact conditions still differ by package, including notice or attribution requirements. Best Icons does not relicense the original artwork.
You do not need a “Powered by Best Icons” credit. Source-license obligations still apply: preserve required notices, and provide attribution when a package such as Vaadin Icons requires it.
An open-source copyright license does not grant trademark rights. Check brand rules before using logos or marks in a way that suggests endorsement.
Keep the included license files with redistributed bundles.
This page is a practical summary, not legal advice. The package includes a package-specific license document for every one of the 206 sets, plus the machine-readable manifest and verified upstream license links. If your distribution model has unusual requirements, review the linked license text or ask qualified counsel.
